Basically, my parents make too much money for FAFSA and CSS aid and don't want to give the college board their tax information and everything. Is the CSS required to get an admissions decision? Thanks guys

2021.10.24 09:51 A_Calm_Dragon Heart of Steel CH5

The ship was powered down from his bullets having killed the reactor, or at least, Greg had hoped that was the reason. Emergency lights had come on, but were a dull green that barely lit up the halls which were oval shaped, the edges where the walls met the floor and ceiling were curved instead of just meeting at a ninety degree point like human vessels.
Just why did he decide to board this ship in the first place anyways? He shook his head in disbelief. It had just...happened. Just a reaction to it all. He decided to blame it on his training to advance and attack an any position, but a part of him didn't think it was that. Was he here to loot the place for cash or things to do a quick sell? To rescue anyone who was on board? None of that felt right, everything just felt out of place and he definitely decided to chalk it up to spur of the moment. So he kept moving forward, the green glare of the emergency lights creating a strange, twisting of the darkness, making every corner look like a place that would hold some horrible monstrosity just waiting to jump him.

And he hated those damn green emergency lights, they were unusual to him and just irked something inside him as he walked on the wall, keeping his weapon trained on the intersection up ahead of him. With the way directly in front of him going to the bridge blocked by blast doors, he only had one way to go, and that was the corner leading into the middle section of the ship.
Emergency lights are supposed to be white or yellow! Or red! Green is a happy color!
To further his annoyance, an alien leaned around the corner and fired a laser rifle at him, the purple beam of light missing him by over a meter. He quickly side stepped onto the ceiling now, the alien still using the floor as its footing as he aimed for the same spot. Just as he anticipated, it leaned out again, the white oblong helmet with the large black visor right in his sights. He pulled the trigger, the head of the alien jerking back before it went limp, feet still magnetized to the floor. Another alien with digigrade legs ran around the corner, tail standing straight out as unleashed a scatter laser down the hall.
The green beams wildly zapped down the hallway before the creature realized Greg was on the ceiling and not the floor, and didn't have the time to correct itself before it was hit with five bullets. It squirmed and flailed in pain, even coming off of the floor while doing so, tail whipping around before Greg put an end to it with another bullet to the helmet before moving up to the corner and leaning around it. He did a real number on the cargo ship, the bullets penetrated further than he had anticipated. Holes went through the hull, the hallway he was in, and into the very center of the ship. Wires and bits of metal floated throughout, and there was frozen blood coming out of an open doorway at the center of the hallway. Deciding to make that his destination, he moved towards it, then up to the entryway to peak inside. It was a mess hall, with circular tables and benches bolted to the floor, many of which were blasted to pieces along with the refrigerators and food that now coated the surfaces and tumbled about in zero-g; along with the bodies of another two aliens. One was a mammalian covered in short fur, the face flat with some sort of trunk. It had six slitted green eyes, but they were glazed over as the center of it's chest was removed by a 20mm round. The other... Well, he couldn't tell what it was anymore. That was just bad luck on it's part. He sighed and moved further down the passage to the next intersection. Once again, he found a blast door keeping him from the front of the ship, so he walked back down onto the floor and began moving towards the rear. It didn't take long for him to find an open door and step through to engineering, and to his right were the reactors and engines sparking and flaring from the bullets that tore them to pieces. Along with another five aliens. One of which he immediately recognized as a Pytholonian. It was a large reptilian with a long snake like neck and long limbs, a sinuous and powerful tail, and had it's neck severed at the midway point, along with a leg and arm. He shook his head and moved to the room directly across from him. Inside that room were engineering supplies and equipment, including blow torches and saws. He hefted up one of the grinders and looked it over, thinking to himself as he did so.
If you can't open a door, make one yourself.
The metal plate dropped away from the blast door, slivers of metal left spinning through the vacuum as Greg took a tentative step through, gun in one hand and the other holding onto the door. No one was waiting for him, but of course, they probably wouldn't be, seeing as he depressurized that section of the ship now. He moved forward and started finding more rooms, mostly crew quarters, and one after the other they were all empty. A few were bare bones, some were trashed, and others had various trinkets and treasures scattered around, obviously trophies from previous raids. By the time he got to the front, where a door blocked the stairwell up, he had counted thirty rooms. Many of which had more than one bed.
So, at least thirty aliens, or possibly sixty, or possibly more if there are more bedrooms up there too. There shouldn't be though beyond the captain's quarters and cargo...and the hangar where that pod came from. Okay, I can do this. I've probably killed most of them already.
*God this is stupid, why am I doing this?*
He shook his head, then decided to see if the door would open if he pressed the large button on it. He did, and to his surprise it did open after cycling like an airlock, warning alarms flashing on the panel below the button about the depressurization. He stepped through, closed it, then moved up the stairs, letting the grinder hang from the side of his suit. He got to the top of the wide stairwell and looked through the windows of the three doors ahead of him.
On the other side were ten aliens of several different species, all wielding different weapons with metal barricades between them and the door. The lights were still on up here, which meant they still had power to the top of the ship, which was good and fine to him. Then the stairwell slowly began to fill with atmosphere, the sibilance of it escaping the vents getting louder for a bit, then becoming quiet once it hit half an Earth atmosphere of pressure. He looked at each alien in turn, one was a Pytholonian, holding a laser rifle with a short barrel, two were Yungunites, each holding laser pistols in their four hands, two of the arms connected to the elbows of the main two arms. They were mammalian with pointed, shrew like faces. The rest were the large reptillian Suthono, digigrade legs, a long alligator tail, and jaws full of razor sharp teeth. One of the Suthono gave him the finger, and he gave it right back before he heard the speakers crackle to life. He glanced to it, then returned to staring through the glass at the aliens that stood ready for him. “Human. You've killed my second in command, shredded my ship, and killed so many of my crewmen! You've caused enough damage as it is already, far more than your dinky little ship could possibly be worth! Just leave, there doesn't have to be any more bloodshed!” Greg rolled his eyes and checked his weapon. He still had plenty of ammo in that magazine, but he wished he had grenades right about now. He began thinking about what to do in the current situation. “We have nothing of any possible value to you! Just turn around and leave!” Nothing of value. Yeah, that seemed about right... Something horrible popped up into his mind, about xeno trafficking and how there was money to be made in kidnapping people for ransom or selling them as slaves. There was always news on that happening in the galaxy, and it had only gotten worse after the war... He reached up to key the intercom, hesitated for a moment, then pressed the button. “How about prisoners? Turn whoever you have over with a suit on them and I'll walk away right now.” There was a sputtering response; “P-prisoners? We're *pirates!* Not slavers or traffickers! We don't-” “Bullshit. You don't take a ship this large and just steal cargo. Ghanates love slaves, and Vexats love harvesting implants and organs. How many do you have on board? Five? Ten? Hand-” “In the words of your species, Human, *fuck off and die!”* Greg turned and walked down the stairs, anger flaring in him like an intense supernova for a moment. “What, you're actually leaving, just like that?” He walked through the doors, followed along the stairwell, then looked up at the ceiling. He guesstimated, then lifted his submachine gun and held down on the trigger as he fired straight up through the floor where the aliens were. Air came rushing through the holes, and small spheres of ice bounced off his helmet and visor as he emptied the magazine, dropped it into his sidepouch, slotted in another, chambered it, and put all the bullets from that magazine through the floor as well before reloading again and making his way back to the stairwell. Well, he got three of them at least, and the rest scattered. The doors at the top of the stairs weren't locked out, and the moment they opened he stepped through and looked around. The bridge was behind him, doors to it on either side, but now there were green lights flashing along the walls and a very high pitched alarm was going off. That was annoying him, and he shouldered his submachine gun again and moved to the right, opening the door to the bridge. It wasn't large, just five seats and several large banks of computers and controls for the systems and equipment on the ship overlooking a large glass window leading out to space. Inside were seven aliens, all trying to take what little cover there was on board. He saw the captain, sitting in his chair, an insect with green chitinous plates covering his body, the spaces between plates varying hues of green. He was wearing a set of silken dark green robes with emeralds stitched into the fabric, a pistol leveled at Greg. Greg leveled his submachine gun at the alien. “You're surrounded now, just give up,” it clicked and chirped in a high pitch, his translation software keeping as close to his actual sounds as possible. The Captain was right, there were aliens moving up behind him and he had aliens to his front and side. “Yeah, I'm not too keen on that. All you have to do is hand over any prisoners you might have. Maybe some cash too while we're at it. I have debts just like anyone to pay.” Rapid clicks came from the insect, which was translated as a laugh. Then it resumed speaking. “I could always use someone like you. Resourceful, strong, effective. Maybe a seco...” The insect trailed off when it started to take in what it was looking at. Not just a human, not just someone who was a soldier from Sera, but that red writing on the helmet. And the nametag on his suit. “Oh,” it said with noticeable fear. “Yeah,” replied Greg as he activated the “Intimidation” feature on his helmet. The visor burst into computer generated flames, and within those flames two swirling orange and red dots that represented his eyes could be seen. The insect stood up in alarm and started firing it's pistol at him, the armor blocking the shots. His armor was designed to stop military grade lasers, and the alien had what looked more like a civilian laser pistol. “It's me. The one and only,” Greg added before turning back to the glass of the bridge. The other aliens, both behind him and behind the banks of computers began to take aim and fire at him as he squeezed the trigger on his submachine gun. Instead of hoping for the glass to shatter in some Hollywood fashion, he shot a full circle a meter wide into the glass, causing that section to explode outward and venting the ship rapidly. The crew on the bridge, foolishly lacked their suits including the captain. They began to flail about or tried to run for the other door to escape while Greg ducked further into the bridge, reloading his submachine gun as he crouch ran to avoid as much of the incoming fire from behind.

[App] Amazing video LWP, especially on the Fold phones (some videos free, must pay to get access to all collections) TLDR:
So there's this guy called Roman De Giuli on YouTube whose videos are absolutely breathtaking. I always use his videos to test the quality of TVs, monitors and phone screens.
A while ago, he came out with a live wallpaper app of his amazing videos, perfectly suited for our AMOLED screens.
I didn't recommend it initially since the videos didn't loop gracefully and had some issues resuming when minimizing an app.
I complained about these to Roman and now he has fixed all the issues in the latest version so I can fully recommend it to you guys now.
There's a free collection if you don't wanna pay but if you do, you get a lot of beautiful, high quality video wallpapers to grace your Fold's screen with.

2021.10.24 09:51 ImNotReallyANerd Ladies & gentlemen, I think I've figured out what would help low tier Hex users finally branch out and would love your constructive criticism.

TL;DR: *Teach at least 2 sub tier ghosts per league/meta a new fast move that is virtually on pace with Shadow Claw users.
As we all know Duskull recently had its Community Day which completely flopped in making Dusknoir a relevant PVP Pokémon despite it now having the highly rated move Shadow Ball. Weird, right? /s... But why does it still suck some of you may be wondering. Well, it's because Shadow Claw users typically outrank a large portion of Hex users.
Hex is by no means a terrible move. It has fantastic energy generation but do not count on it to deal damage unless your opponent is very low on HP that allows you to farm. Back on topic, Shadow Claw is preferred because it's more rounded but sadly not all of the ghosts that need a better fast move can learn it in the MSG (main series games). But there's good news. The MSG has a long list of ghost moves(scroll to the bottom) that have yet to be added to Pokémon Go. And after finding out that Luxray of all things is getting a new move on its Community Day added to the game I now 100% believe a new fast move for a few ghosts for each league is possible.
Niantic doesn't necessarily have to give us a new ghost fast move for sub tier ghosts to have relevancy. You could give them an unreleased ground fast move or a flying fast move if it works with the meta. This is key. But for the sake of argument let's just stick with a ghost fast move.
Shadow Claw as we all know is a 2 turn fast move that deals a base damage of 6 and generates 8 energy as of now. I believe that for the sub tier ghosts to compete they would need a 7 damage fast move generating 7 damage every 2 turns. A Poison Jab clone. And I vote for it being Confuse Ray. Many ghosts can learn it and it would work within all leagues. My initial choices would be the following per league but not limited to;
Great League - Misdreavus, Dusklops
Ultra League - Gourgeist, Mismagius, Dusknoir
Master League - Chandelure, Cursola (Unreleased)
Non-Ghost Types - Corsola, Gardevoir, Gallade, Golduck, Kabutops, Lanturn, Regigigas
Adding a move like this to the game and teaching its wielders a low energy move to go with it would be a game changer. And the balance is already there. Dark types are very strong and I doubt this would make ghosts all powerful. It would just be nice to see some really cool sleepers have their shot.
