2021.10.15 22:03 CMDRAgameg Some questions about the QueenBee Pro w/ xPRO v5 Controller
After owning a Genmitsu 3018 for a few years now to see if I like the hobby, I've converted it over to a laser cutteengraver and decided to buy a larger and more capable router. I spent a lot of time researching the merits of various machines as well as doing my own design and ended up deciding that for my situation the QueenBee Pro is the best option. I've done a lot of reading on that machine and the controller I intend to use (the xPRO V5) which has been very informative but I have a couple questions I didn't see obvious answers to. If you guys can point me in right direction I'd appreciate it.
1) Sensorless Homing: I've added limit switches to my 3018 so I'm familiar with homing in general and how switches play into it, but this controller says it supports Sensorless Homing (https://github.com/Spark-Concepts/xPro-V5/wiki/Hardware_Description). I've gathered that it's a function of the Trinamic stepper driver's stallguard capability but I didn't see anything in the documentation about how to use it. A google search led me to some write-ups for other machines, but what I see appears to be pretty specific to those machines. I'd appreciate any clear info pertinent to if/how that could be used on this machine.
2) Y-Axis Dual Stepper Configuration: Obviously the default configuration for the Y-axis steppers is to use both the Y and Y2/A ports on the controller. That being said, I intend to purchase a rotary (A) axis with the machine and it would also use that port. I googled around a bit and the two options I think I found are the following:
a: Use the machine normally when I'm not using the rotary axis and unplug both my Y axes when I want to use the rotary. Make a couple macros to switch the grbl settings when I switch configurations. This also allows for gantry squaring.
b: Permanently wire both Y-axis steppers in parallel to the Y port on the controller and use the Y2/A port exclusively for the rotary. Napkin math says the stepper FETs can handle the current, but it will result in more heat and likely sooner component failure. This configuration would not allow for gantry squaring.
I'd appreciate any wisdom on the subject you have to share with me.

2021.10.15 22:03 Dazzling-Time9416 I wish I could fix everything
August 21, 2018. I was 19 then. I wish I could go back to that time and redo everything since then. As my 19 year old self by the way.
I'd even try and prevent COVID. If anyone knows the secret to time travel, please please please.

2021.10.15 22:03 KokosCY Opportunities for an Electrical Engineer in Cyprus
I'm trying to figure out where to divert my interest in my profession (based on Cyprus' labour market always), and I think the 2 most wanted types of electrical engineers are PLC engineers and those working in contruction planning & inspection - I currently have 1 year experience in the latter. I wanted to ask:
Which of the two should I follow in order to be more marketable, and have a better salary and up-growth potential? Or is there any other industry that's skipping my mind?

2021.10.15 22:03 No-Map6341 Should I give her this on the first date?
I'm a 20M going on a date with a 20F nursing student in a few days that I hit it off with. I want to give her a sticker I have that has a stethoscope and the words "future nurse" on it that I got in a big pack of stickers a few years ago. She told me she has wanted to be a nurse for her whole life and I thought she would like it.

2021.10.15 22:03 heroicgamer44 Unlearning subvocalisation
This isn’t a post on how to read faster. Over the past few weeks I’ve had this issue with my nose that involves constantly exhaling from my nose (especially during reading). I noticed that my subvocalisation has become very silent, to the point of being invisible. I don’t read well like this and it’s been giving me a lot of anxiety. Im worried that because of the constant distraction from my nose, I have somehow unlearned subvocalisation
